Built by a family, for families.
Archevi started with a simple question: why is it so hard to find your own documents when you need them most? We built the answer.
Two hours that changed everything
A family member was in the hospital. I needed to find their insurance policy -- not the card, the actual document with coverage details and provisions for the situation we were facing.
I spent the next two hours going through paperwork, old email attachments, and shared drives that I hadn't looked at in years. I found tax returns from 2018. I found a car insurance policy for a car we no longer owned. I found the receipt for a dishwasher we bought in 2020.
I didn't find the insurance information. Those two hours stuck with me.
I started asking around. Every family I talked to had some version of the same story. Important documents scattered across physical folders, cloud drives, email attachments, and 'I think my spouse knows where that is.'
The lucky families had a binder system that one very organized person maintained. The rest were one emergency away from a frantic search. I decided to build something better.
The gap nobody was filling
I looked for solutions. There were document scanners, cloud storage apps, and password managers. But nothing that could answer the question I actually had that night:
Filing cabinets cannot answer questions about what is inside them.
Google Drive now searches contents with AI -- but it also searches your email, chat, photos, and ad profile. There is no boundary.
Password managers store credentials, not the documents themselves.
No existing tool could read a policy and tell me what it covers.
I didn't need a better filing cabinet. I needed something that could read the documents and answer questions about them -- with proof.
So I built it
Archevi is an AI-powered knowledge vault for families. Upload your important documents -- insurance policies, wills, tax returns, medical records, property deeds -- and ask questions in plain English. Every answer comes with a citation pointing back to the exact document and page.
I added boundary anonymization so the AI never sees your real names or personal identifiers. Everything runs on secure servers in Toronto, protected by Canadian and international privacy standards. I built family sharing so every member – not just the account owner – gets full AI access.
Archevi isn't a storage app with AI bolted on. It's a knowledge layer that makes your documents queryable, searchable, and actually useful -- without compromising your privacy.
What we believe
These aren't marketing principles. They're the decisions that shaped how Archevi works.
Privacy is non-negotiable
Your documents are anonymized before any AI sees them. We strip names, redact sensitive numbers, and never train on your data. Period.
Your data stays close to home
Everything runs on secure infrastructure in Toronto, protected by Canadian and international privacy standards (PIPEDA, GDPR-aligned). Your files, your database, your backups – all in one jurisdiction you can trust.
No dark patterns
No hidden fees, no upsells, no retention tricks, no ads. Simple pricing, easy cancellation, and your data is always exportable. Your subscription is our only revenue.
Built for real families
Not enterprises, not power users, not tech enthusiasts. Regular families who need to find important information when it matters.
About the founder
I’m Rob, and I built Archevi because I lived the problem it solves. That night in the hospital, scrambling through filing cabinets, I knew there had to be a better way.
I'm a web guy by trade, a parent, and -- like most people -- someone who had way too many important documents scattered across way too many places. Archevi started as a weekend project and became something I genuinely believe every family needs.
If you have questions, ideas, or feedback, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. This is still early, and the people who shape the product most are the ones who use it.
Your family's documents deserve better than a shared Drive folder
Every family member gets AI-powered search. Private by design, no ads, no data monetization.
