Last updated: February 23, 2026

Last updated: February 23, 2026 (v1.1 -- updated to reflect current pricing and privacy architecture)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Archevi service ("Service") operated by Archevi Inc. ("Archevi", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Archevi is an AI-powered family document management service. The Service allows you to:

  • Upload and securely store family documents
  • Search your documents using natural language AI queries
  • Get AI-powered answers with source citations from your documents
  • Share documents with family members in a secure, isolated environment
  • Set expiry alerts and manage document renewals
  • Record and transcribe voice notes

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Archevi. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service. We will never sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your documents are stored encrypted on Canadian infrastructure. During AI processing, your queries are anonymized using boundary anonymization before being sent to cloud AI providers. Your real personal information is never shared with AI providers -- they only receive surrogate data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. AI Processing

Our AI features process your documents to enable search and understanding. Your documents may be sent in anonymized form to AI providers (Groq, Cohere) for processing. These providers:

  • Never receive your real personal information (names, emails, etc. are replaced with surrogates)
  • Do not use your data to train their models
  • Have zero data retention policies on inference requests
  • Are SOC 2 Type II certified (Cohere)

Certain sensitive data types (Social Insurance Numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, passport numbers) are permanently redacted and never sent to any external service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others

  • Your data remains accessible until the end of the billing period
  • After the billing period ends, your account reverts to a limited trial state

For refund requests, please contact [email protected] within 30 days of your most recent charge.

8. Family Accounts and Multi-Tenancy

Each family operates in a completely isolated tenant with separate storage and access controls. Database-enforced row-level security ensures that one family can never access another family's data. Family account owners can invite members and manage permissions within their tenant.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Archevi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
